Humility's a good thing. "Pride goeth before a fall"...."He whom the gods would destroy they first make proud". Lots of precedence for the practical wisdom of humility, and I can't take credit for it.
I can only directly influence my own country, of course, but since America sets an example for the rest of the world, for better or worse, if America discovered some humility it would be a good thing for the whole world.
