We can't force humility on anyone else (that would be quite a paradox). The best we can do is set a good example; we can demonstrate that humility is a virtue. We can lead by example.
Many virtues aren't easy to hold to. In the short run it may appear is if virtue is a weakness, as others try to exploit it, or disparage it. The trick is to not succumb to the pressure to abandon virtue for expediency and short-term gain. You demonstrate the value of a principle by hanging on to it resolutely and paying the price. Conversely, you demonstrate that you think a virtue has little value by abandoning it at the first opportunity. Others pay attention to actions, not words.
