Spreading ideology at gunpoint

There's a broader issue here. While we may have faith that our ideology is superior to all others, if we choose to impose it by force on other countries we're setting an example and establishing a precedent that can be cited by anyone else with an equal faith in their ideology. Do we really want to belong to the same club as Communists and Islamists?
