Heh, heh.
The problem with the US tactics are that they are against the law of the Christian God. They can't work. And aren't working.
Now, remember when the US was contemplating the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. We were going to kick some butt, bigawd, we were going to show them.
The US killed far more innocent civilians in Afghanistan than died in WTC. And continues killing 'em. Which creates enemies far and wide. It just makes sense.
So the butt kicks back. Which conservatives regard as unfair, unreasonable, and don't understand.
Invade Iraq without ANY good reason, except to get rid of Saddam and install Bush. Absentee landlord, really. Kick some butt again!
Kill 3 to 4 times as many innocent Iraqis as Americans died at WTC. Justify it in your own minds as "collateral damage". The Iraqis begin to harbor some resentments.
The butt kicks back. Which conservatives regard as unfair. I don't know what is "unfair" about people defending their homeland from foreign occupation, and defending themselves and their neighbors from being killed by these same foreign occupiers. It is cruel, brutal, ugly, and certainly unfair to the victims, identical to what the occupiers are doing.
This reminds me of what some fishermen used to do to starfish - chop 'em up and throw them back. What they didn't know was that each arm grew back into another starfish. Each innocent person killed by the US certainly spawns 5 more people who hate the US.
Just as it would be if they were over here.
I think the Christian Bible talks about "reaping what is sowed". There is a common saying that what goes around comes around. Those are spiritual laws, created by the Creator, and they always work.
And the US is busy trying to eliminate hate by hating. End violence with more violence. The Creator ensured that it won't work.
Nope. The bravado, "we're gonna go kick some butt", has a price, a very high price. People resent it, and it's not like one of the popular movies with the butt-kicking crowd, there is an equal and IDENTICAL reaction.
Treat the civilian population with respect, and you'll get respect. Treat 'em the way the US has, and you'll get hate. "You shall reap what you sow."
And understand that, remember what the goal is, and one can devise tactics which will work rather than tactics which appeal to the baser instincts of a lynch mob.
It's simple. Just takes a bit of a longer view. The Creator's.
