An interesting geological issue...
Every geological feature on Earth and the planets has been discovered first, and then named.
If this object does hit the Earth, it will certainly be named before it does so. Suppose it is named "Nemesis" or something equally histrionic. When it hits, the astrobleme will automatically become "The Nemesis Crater". This would be the first time on Earth that a natural feature was named before it was discovered!
