Be interesting to compare the effects to a major volcanic eruption

As one example, the Mt. St. Helens explosion was about 24 megatons. Krakatoa was about 200 megatons, although I've seen both higher and lower numbers.

The Yellowstone caldera which erupts about every 600,000 years dwarfed Krakatoa. I hear the last major eruption was about 640,000 years ago.
