This attempt to strip a word of its meaning, in much the same way as the word "torture" has been semantically neutralized, was too much even for the Washington Post.
I'm still trying to figure out what the hell "due process" means for actual prisoners of war, never mind combatants without a national army. In WWII, you were released from prison camps when the war was over and hostilities ceased. You didn't get a jury trial to see if you could be let go or not.
