Current Events » in reply to The Nazi Party still exists. Why aren't we still holding German POWs?

Complete disconnect.

I haven't noticed any Nazis bombing office buildings lately.

When Japan surrendered, they stopped shooting. They had someone who could go onto a ship, sign something, and everyone would quit fighting. Same, more or less, for Germany. Or the South in the Civil War. Or the British after the Revolution. Or any normal war.

It should be glaringly obvious that we aren't fighting that kind of war here. Osama is not going to sign a treaty, and all the Islamists suddenly stop building car bombs and go home.

There is no enemy country. No enemy government. No enemy army wearing enemy uniforms. We're fighting a cult, an insane philosophy. I don't see a hard end to this, although like the old anarchists and other movements, it will probably fade out at some point.

Until then, the prisoners who aren't processed out can just stay there.
