Moral relativism

Declaring that standing a man on a box in a hood is the same thing as dumping hundred of thousands of people in mass graves, running prisoners through grinders or acid baths, or the rest, is, frankly, a bit nuts, wouldn't you agree? You can say that someone who robs parking meters and someone who kills ten people robbing a bank are both committing crimes, and both performing immoral acts. That doesn't make them equivalent. If it's a cop robbing parking meters, that adds a degree of nastiness to it, but it still doesn't make him the same as a murderer.

I'm not sure you understand "moral equivalence" the way I use it. For the record, "moral equivalence" is when one neutralizes both the degree and motivation of an action, rendering "morality" almost meaningless in the context.

Amnesty International, like many other organizations before it (the U.N.) seems to have been taken over by leftist politics and the associated hostility toward the U.S., Israel, and the West in general. That the U.S. is singled out as the most important human rights violator in the last year is ridiculous.
