Many of the vans were rented by private organizations, like hotels. The news story about the blockage of the bridge was written by people who had to pool money to rent their own buses. This was not part of any organized relief or shelter transport plan.
Apparently the crime of FEMA, whose entire job since Carter created it, was to be an overblown insurance and aid company for people after a disaster, was failure to be omniscient.
I've spent enough time explaining the issues of what was really going on, the communiciations, and everything else. The goddam mayor didn't know what was going on half the time but somehow an agency several tiers above him was supposed to be the first responder under martial law conditions when it wasn't even on their job description.
The Left spent the first week or so after the hurricane firing every single barrel they had at the Bush administration. Global warming. Levee funding. Racial discrimination. Worst Federal emergency failure in history. You name it.
Most of this hype has fallen apart, and you're still hanging on to it like a dog with a bone. You keep saying that you insist there's failure at all levels. So why are you ignoring those failures? Especially when some of them negated the Federal and private relief efforts?
