If you are using oil...it sounds insane...but check in to using vegetable oils as fuel. You need to find out if your particular furnace will run on it and if the costs work out okay. Online searches and asking your furnace tech is a good idea.

But, as others have suggested plastic window coverings and insulation in the attic will help lower costs.

I just spent ~435 USD for 150 gallons which will get us to December at best.
