For a bigger room, a fan helps a lot. Ceiling fans are surprisingly good at evening out the heat in a home, too. Not just for staying cool.
A hint: Many heaters come with more than one setting (the one you pictured is typical, with two switches that can either be thrown independently or together to select three wattage ranges).
You can get very good results at lower settings if you are patient enough to wait for the heat to accumulate and stabilize.
