If you're not including giving to religious charities and church charities as "charity," I can see where your "research" might come up with the numbers you're getting. I think we're living on separate planets here.
But more importantly, if you recall, we weren't talking "income levels" in this post, but political philosophies (conservative and liberal), which is why Red State/Blue State comparisons have relevance to the point, not income levels.
