People start getting nice when the Abyss approaches

He's had his fun, now he's old and on his way out - and he just found out
that you can't take it with you - so now he wants to look good and give
some of his surplus to the masses.

And he may be just a bit worried about that omnipotent being up in the sky
who keeps saying how he loves everyone but if they don't do what he says,
they're gonna fry for eternity.

People like that who deliberately amass such a ridiculous amount of wealth -
how selfless can those people really be? You really think they collect all
that money just to give it away in the future? When it won't do 'em much
good any more, maybe. And look at those who inherit a lot of money -
Paris Hilton. Hoy, somebody please tell me what purpose she serves, other
than as temporary amusement and derision?

Billions are already spent every year to help the poor, etc., but it doesn't
seem to alliviate the problems, does it?

Remember when Ted Turner gave $1 billion to the UN. Whatever happened
to that? And Armand Hammer - he gave hundreds of millions to education,
but US schools still keep on griping about limited budgets.

I remember in my neighborhood, the ones with the money were always among
the least giving. Got to be something wrong with a society that lets a few
have tons of cash and the majority can go swing in the wind.

Oh well, there goes my chance at some of the $60B, huh.
