and do the reasons matter?
It would tickle me pink if it were found that fossil fuels will be exhausted in 50 years. The problem would soon be solved.
Meanwhile back in the real world, assuming the worst case for human pollution, China, Russia and the third world are the major offenders. If they were willing to do as much as we already do and probably will do under any administration the problem would almost go away.
It is a stupid notion that we must cut back in order to allow the ROW to catch up while they increase emmisions tenfold over what a staranglehold on the USA would prevent.
The only thing I have ever heard anyone say about this is to mumble about moral high ground and/or every little bit helps.
The Russians, the Chinese and most of the ROW will do as they please until we put pollution on the same level as weapons proliferation. We all know how well that is working out.
Can anyone see a time when we will risk war to control another country's carbon emmissions?
It is a political issue and in the long run what must be done will be done and we will not destroy the planet.
