...a window mounted room a/c. Not just for yourself, but in case any oldlings live in your building you can share it with those in need.

There may be old folks in your building who don't tell anyone when they are suffering - and then they will merely die. Alzheimer's and senility make old folks inclined to drink less and use less sanity when dealing with heat. They also fear being a 'burden' on other apartment residents.

My 94 year old grandmother was one of these silent sufferers until my family made made sure she had a standing a/c unit and knew how to use it.

One of my deep frustrations in Europe is the lack of universal A/C. Things aren't going to get cooler over the next decades - only warmer. Folks don't seem to be taking that seriously and old folks, babies and the ill will be the first to pay for this lack of preparation.

Spread the word - and be a local hero to the oldlings in your neighborhood.
