If the folks in the middle east had been brought up without violence there would be no need to bomb the heck out of them now because they wouldn't be blowing up buildings, kidnapping soldiers, beheading folks or firing rockets at Israel.
The cycle of violence continues. Start with each next generation and perhaps it can be diminished.
If you think I like violence or bombing unintelligent violent people - think again. Dealing with violent folks is like dealing with the mentally ill. If it was technically possible to drop Smart-Tasers on them and collect their unconscious or paralyzed bodies and incarcerate them, I'd be all for it.
We live in a society completely numb to violence and what it really means. The fact that children watch 1000s of "fake" murders and beatings, 100s of "fake" sex acts and dozens of "fake" tortures, rapes all before they are 18 is a telling statistic. And if their parents watch such stuff for entertainment what message does this send to the children?
What sort of responses do you expect from the fruit of these violently indoctrinated generations? "Bring it on" is just a symptom of the media generation who get their mental cues of "coolness" and "toughness" from film and television.
This planet is like a huge monkey cage. You got the banana hoarders, the fighting monkees, the monkeys in the corner gratifying themselves and the others busy creating more monkeys, screaming monkeys, hyper monkeys - a plethora of monkeys.
When you are born here you find yourself in the cage. You have a fairly limited set of role models to choose from or to learn from. You can become a banana hoarder, a screamer, a fighter, the self-gratifier, the reproducers, etcetera. Very few monkeys stop, stand up, look around and say, "this is crazy. How did I get locked up in a monkey cage?"
For if they did - the sane thing to do would be to look for the exit gate they know must exist. And at that point they would cease to be a monkey.
And how many folks here do you see looking for that exit gate or who are in any way aware of the nature of their predicament?
