Just because the leftists lusting after control of health care are screaming "failed!" at the top of their lungs doesn't make it true.
Our system may cost more than others, but it still delivers the best choices and best overall health care on the planet. Maybe you haven't noticed that the other health care systems are mostly living off our innovations and research. It's easy to keep costs down when somebody else is paying for the development.
If you want to come up with a method of helping those who can't afford insurance, or are uninsurable for other reasons, go for it. Theoretically, that's what Medicaid is for. I wouldn't mind some higher taxes for a targeted, need-based system. But don't drag me down into your socialist fantasies.
