re: More
I don't like the idea of employers having to provide health insurance either, the result of another ham-handed interference with the market many years ago. Health insurance should be sold individually same as any other kind of insurance is, but there it is.
Any attempt to slowly work toward individual solutions, like health savings accounts, is furiously opposed by the Left, which has its sights set on socialized medicine, with no other choices allowed, and isn't going to quit until it gets it.
Believe me, no Republican slipped in that "no private insurance." That's sheer socialist lust in action.
As far as the illegal immigrants go, that's from the 10-page Microsoft Word document:
Undocumented residents will be covered. (140400) Excluding undocumented residents would defeat the purposes of this statute- streamlining administration, reimbursing medical providers for all patients, containing communicable diseases, and improving the general health of the population.
Go through the actual bill, and just list the new "offices" created to administer this.
If this passes, there will be much dancing in the streets as health care, as far as the economically-butt-ignorant are concerned, becomes "free." After a few years the dancing will stop.
I can't believe this has gotten this far without a lot of protests from the industry. My guess is some kind of fix is in, but I don't know what it is.
