I certainly have enjoyed the knowledge and descriptive nature of that book that you have shared with us. It is an idea who's time has come.
It brings up many more thoughts and deep rooted emotions.
I just finished a two day course at Western Carolina University on the pre-history of the Cherokee in this area, and how they were slowly ursurped by the British by losing centuries of self rule and living carefully off the land. It started with blankets tainted with deadly diseases, broken treaties and trading with them using usury, tacking on that extra 10% they could never pay and eventually taking their lands bit by bit.
Of course, little has changed over the centuries as those that HAVE take more from those who haven't, and are assimilated into the burden of the nations. Human nature?
