So what does any of that have to do with the validity of the behavioral and sociological study of authoritarian conservatism? Attacking Dean for insufficient extremism doesn't make a dent in the essential truth of the existence of authoritarian conservatism.

As I've pointed out several times already, the study of authoritarian conservatism is hardly new, and that it was inspired by the need to understand what happened in Germany under the Nazis. If you want to deny the existence of authoritarian conservatism, perhaps you'd care to offer your alternative explanation of why Hitler was able to take over a democracy? Where do demagogues come from, Tom, and from where do they derive their power?
