Visual irony

I continue to be struck by the sharp difference between the way the right reacts to Mexican flags on a day celebrating Mexican heritage, versus Irish flags on the day celebrating the Irish heritage. Please, explain the difference. Enquiring minds really want to know. Can you even tell the difference between the two flags?
