Again with the threats

Nice apocalyptic spin with that "day of reckoning" stuff.

You're defining the purpose of government as doing what you want it to do. But that's not quite correct in a democracy. Under self-government, we elect temporary managers to do what we want them to do. Whatever that may be.

It's an extreme example, but well within the bounds of what we're "allowed" to do with our own government. If a majority of Americans felt it would be advantageous to make a political alliance with Mexico, the government's duty would be to execute the paperwork and create a new nation out of the combination of the two.

It's happened many times in history, and with a common profile: A mature society with an older population and a great deal of accumulated wealth makes alliance with a younger up-and-coming nation nearby, to their mutual benefit. The older society gets breathing room and some assurance of stability and security in its old age; and the younger society gets a leg up economically and useful employment for its population.

Lee, take a close look at the pictures of the crowds at tea party events. The average age is well over 50, and about a quarter of the people need to sit in lawn chairs to protest. You like to focus on the reproduction rate of the younger society, but the demographic shift has as much to do with the aging of our own population and its declining birth rate.

Give it a couple of decades. I'll bet you have a very different view of those immigrants when you need help getting around and taking care of yourself. The current inchoate rage against southern immigrants is self-defeating and self-destructive.
