The fact is that these nasty groups are very small.
But so were the Bolsheviks.
The worst parts of the Latin American culture are being greatly moderated by our culture.
Much of the Latin culture is actually very good.
The Balkanized future these wingnut groups invision is not very likely.
What is much more likely is a synthesis of a new culture.
And unlike Yugoslavia, we are a civil society and don't apreciate those who, like MechA, would rob us of that.
But if they want to try a "reconquest", I think they will quickly and sadly find out why we won in the first place: because we are meaner and bloodier, and very willing to kill as many of the other guy as needed until the threat is over.
