The only way to judge the worth of a genetic experiment is to let it grow up. And maybe reproduce.

Nobody has to know? Are you suggesting that we harvest and confine human beings to observe their progress, and if they "go wrong", shoot 'em?

I can see it now.

"Dr. Frankenstein, what are all those trenches behind the genetic research building for?"
