Talk about grasping at straws... no wonder you write well, SDAI, you have an incredible imagination - though severely limited in scope.
Obviously this person is writing with an intended audience of westerners (those in Iraq can see the situation for themselves) and anyone bright enough to do this would use "God" rather than "Allah". It's an expression of dismay, not an expression of religious philosophy.
Of course it's difficult to prove this either way, and I admit it's not impossible that it's fake, but it is very possible that it is not... you can't rave so positively about it being bogus with any credibility.
Another Iraqi blog that talks about Riverbend - no indication that this blogger thinks she's fake.
