I didn't say that the oppression of an entire nation was the primary reason for invading Iraq. Lord knows there are other nations that could use someone to kick their rulers out on their tails. On the other hand, it isn't chopped liver either, and the fact that Saddam and his sons were murderous tyrants and now no longer rule Iraq is not irrelevant when discussing the current situation. It is particularly ghastly to suggest it would have been better for the Iraqis to let them rule for the next forty years.
No sir, it's not to free the Iraqis from Saddam. If it really were so, the troops would be leaving Iraq and leave them on their own, as they want.
Although the media and others are attempting to put across the impression that Iraqis universally want us out, only 13 percent of Iraqis actually surveyed want us to leave immediately. Naturally, the hostile ones are the ones the papers seek out.
The Left wants America to lose this fight. They aren't even subtle about it any more. The loss of the freedom of 20 million people means nothing to them, as human freedom around the world for the past fifty years has meant nothing to them.
