Iraq ia going to snowball out of control badly making all the liberals look brilliant if they don't get some one in charge who has enough sense to realize that doubling Iraq'a police force in a year and blowing money on inflated reconstruction costs is no way to get
Iraq back on its feet and Bush in office.
They need to be putting new policeman on the ground monthly if not weekly and at least an order of 10 magnitude increase in forces. Putting competant Iragi's in charge of dealing with looting and sabotage is the most important thing in maintaining Iraqi support IMO. Every time an American makes an arrest it will lower some group of people's support. It is important to have a competant force, but we can't spend huge amounts of time training forces when they were needed yeaterday. We need to drill the basics in them get them on the street ASAP and improve their training once things settle down. They may be worried about letting the cat out of the bag in terms of bad officers, but they better worry about the deteriorating support the occupation has.
Basic services should be restored by now unless sabotage was severe. Simply removing key elements should not be this hard to fix. Fire those that can't fix it and get some who can.

Mark
