Homosexuality is a condition ocurring between consenting human adults that is brought about by a genetic variance (if you don't like flaw).
It is distinctly differrent from incest, bestiality and pedophilia which are sexual acts that occur. Sometimes one party is a victim sometimes not. Either way the act does not involve a genetic variance in itself. Whether it is hetro or homo it is about sexual attraction, which we are expected to control.
In the case of incest or bestiality I have never heard of anyone that was not capable of normal sexual acts aside from their deviant activity. I admit that pedophiles seem restricted to children but it is more like a strong preference than a genetic disposition. The same goes for supposedly bi-sexuals, it is an acquired taste and totally different from "normal" homosexuality.
I do believe that homosexuality is a birth defect that we should work to elliminate. To say less is to say that those born geneticall deaf are correct to wish for their children to be also be deaf. Until eliminated, the victims of this defect deserve the same respect and opportunity available to all.
I'm sure that some may be offended by my take on this but I can only say that I have worked with gays ranging from flaming queens to hardly discernable and I have no problem liking them or associating with them on a social or professional level.
As to the marriage issue, the institution of marriage has taken a lot of hits over the years and it is hard to get excited about any "so called" violation but personally I would prefer the civil union option open to gays and straights, with marraige left alone for hetrosexuals that prefer that route.
