Thanks Rob

I'm certain that is the prevailing theory: SDAI is nuts and bigoted to boot. I'm sure many wish it was true, it would make it easier to explain my positions. I've lived in CA most of my life and worked and lived side by side with innumerable homosexuals - with not any prejudice or bigotry whatsoever. This does not mean from a societal scale I don't realize the danger this behavior represents. And I will illustrate in a moment.

Clearly rational discussion of the matter is almost impossible. It hurts a bit to be so misread. I'd have thought after about five and a half years and countless posts that folks can't see where I am coming from. If my view was entirely unique I could understand it easier - but it's not even close to unique. Others, more famous and published than I, have weighed in on the issue.

Take a look at this chart of character elements of mankind as outlined in The Lessons of History by Will and Ariel Durant. Look closely at the 2 columns of Instincts, Habits, Feelings and how some are labeled positive and negative. Here's what Mr. Durant (who researched and wrote one of the most enduring and indepth histories of mankind over his lifetime) had to say about Character and History:

"Society is founded not on the ideals but on the nature of man, and the constitution of man rewrites the constitutions of states. But what is the constitution of man?

We may define human nature as the fundamental tendencies and feelings of mankind. The most basic tendencies we shall call instincts, though we recognize that much doubt has been cast upon their inborn quality. We might describe human nature through the Table of Character Elements given on the following page. In this analysis human beings are normally equipped by nature (here meaning heredity) with six positive and six negative instincts, whose function it is to preserve the individual, the family, the group, or the species. In positive personalities the positive tendencies predominate , but most individuals are armed with both sets of instincts - to meet - or to avoid (according to mood or circumstance) the basic challenges or opportunities of life. Each instinct generates habits and is accompanied by feelings. Their totality is the nature of man.

Did you get that line: "whose function is to preserve the individual, the family, the group and the species."

I was pleasantly surprised to see that he had come to the same conclusions I have - from a totally different basis. He came to positive/negative instincts by a societal/historical depth second to none. My constructive/destructive action bit is based off of an indepth understanding of energy. Seeing the two coallesce seamlessly was quite a surprise.

That we have come to the same conclusions from two vastly different approaches, confirms for me the validity of the outlook.

Reproduction is the preservation of the family and the species. As such its preservation is paramount of importance. While some folks here have stated marriage and reproduction is not threatened by homosexuality - it most definitely is.

The Catholics outnumber the Protestants because of birth control. As a result Catholics have a greater say in the political outlook of the nation and throughout the world. Whatever one has to say about Catholicism, one has to respect the shrewdness of their choice of "sins."

Homosexuality is just another nail in the coffin for the anglo-saxon influence in North America as it is for Europe where all manners of non-reproductive sex have diminished the vitality of these nations. Mexican immigrants, who are devoutly Catholic in most instances, are in no way going to diminish their numbers with homosexual behavior, to any large extent, and will grow in power eventually turning the United States into what Mexico wishes it could be.

This is all fine and swell. But it will result in a fundamental lowering in the quality of life for all Americans as the government will eventually be taken over almost entirely by folks with a Catholic viewpoint. By my reckoning something like that will occur within the next seventy years.

If MA and others here think Bush is intolerant, they are sadly clueless as to how intolerant the future USA is because of the very thing they supported - homosexual marriages. It's that shortterm outlook again. Comforting yourself and your POV rather than seeing what is in the best interests of society as a whole. The future

I know. My posts require thinking. After reading some of the comments over the past week I can see that some folks are completely incapable of intelligent thought. That's to be expected - but the number here is higher than I had ever posited. As a result, I am going to be drastically diminishing my presence and time spent here and putting more of these things on my new weblog. The HZ was a fun ride. But I'm putting in far7 more than I'm getting out and I see why the place is slowing down.

My points still stand. Will Durant and history back them up. It's not about discrimination - it's about survival, and we are losing the race abyssmally.

Thanks for weighing in Rob. I appreciate it.

PS
Mary Anne is mainly P.O. because of my reference to the left posting as "manic-depressives" in my response to Lindy which I later realized was probably the worst choice of descriptions and set her off. For that I apologize. Trying to take into account every single poster and their own personal history, so as not to offend anyone, as one makes a post, is very difficult. She likely interpreted this as baiting - which it wasn't. But the point and the description is still valid. It certainly wasn't focused on her. To be honest I was mainly describing RL and Davin, whose posts are ALL IN CAPS or wrapped up in aggressive hysteria, positively screaming insecurity, most of the time.

Selfishness is the American way I guess. The ME,ME, ME generation still hasn't grown up and probably never will.

On a personal note. I'd love to see you write more. You have real talent. The HZ sometimes suppresses some folks talent while boosting others. I had described it as a freeway some years back. Merging into the fast lane is required. Tom has his own diamond lane so don't worry about him. Your story about your dad was both touching and well written and worthy of publishing somewhere where more folks can read it. Oh, and listen closely to what your wife says - she sounds like she has it all together. ;-)
