You are very high minded to the point that you are exclusionary and everyone else carries out random acts of self masochism. Everyone, of course, except yourself. You just haven't heard what we've been saying for over a year now.

Oh, some form of this "SDAI-Tech1 is a racist or discriminatory" rhetoric has gone on since the early days of the MSNBC boards. I am well used to it. If I say Uranium has a lot more electrons and protons than Hydrogen - there is some idiot out there who will say I am discriminating against Hydrogen. If I point out that homosexual sex acts fail to result in offspring - I am suddenly a homophobe and pseudoscientist. That's fine too. I don't know the sexual orientation of the various zone members and so there are likely some folks who will get so blinded with fury at my posts that they will not comprehend or hear what I am saying. Which is really sad all the way around.

And Davin's comparing your high minded-ness to the Nazis entertaining a form of eugenics is very close to what I have perceived in you.

Which just goes to illustrate how ignorance on the left is pervasive. For the left the Hydrogen and Uranium are equal - because they say they are. To view anything in its true context is not permitted because it might shatter some of the illusions and delusions they lives under and with every moment of every day.

Too many folks here on the left post like manic-depressives and swing through the highs and lows like a monkey on the jungle gym. Conversing intelligently is nearly impossible with many because their emotions, egos and insecurity interfere with constructive conversation. Every time a conversation starts to go past sound bytes is when a thread is bound to die out.

This doesn't just include my posts - but I've observed it repeatedly with Tom who presents his case (often elaborate cases that clearly took time) and gets no or trifling responses. Or take a look at Frank and Dan - no shrill screams or protests from these folks. There's an underlying rationality that makes conversation easygoing and natural. Even Lee, while being perpetually blasted on the left and forced to wear a "virtual" kkk hood and prepared for the tar and feathers seems to handle it fairly well and doesn't start having a cow until provoked extraordinarily. Ed takes a heap of abuse here too, far more than he deserves, even if he does act as the first thorn in the side of the left with a barb. (or two or three) This is not to say I always agree with Frank, Tom, Dan, Ed or Lee say at all. It's just to point out that conversing with them is easier than with many of the others. RobVG is easy to communicate with. Larry J and Nick can communicate easily even though Larry "doesn't tolerate fools" and posts here less & Nick posts mainly on Space. Alcaray and McFly for the left-ish side also seem to be able to post without going into total reactionary mode.

Mary Anne has the same highs and lows that make posting with her completely unpredictable. She has good points but press one of her hotbuttons and "smack - right in the kisser" and she'll turn off a thread faster than a hot faucet.

You have terrific writing abilities for FICTION, but you can't seem to carry on a regular conversation without romanticizing everything psuedo-scientifically.

It's pseudo not psuedo. If you're going to say such at least spell it right. Pseudo is a word that non-scientific people on the web throw around a lot. If you don't like someone's position - just call them pseudo and smear them. There are some crazy-folk that this applies to but there are a lot who use the term out of context because they see others use it. Folks who were saying there's water on mars - they were pseudo-scientists. That they happened to be right will not make such name-callers repentant - quite the contrary - their fragile egos will spend time trying to retaliate. (Pretty much the same way this post will probably launch a thousand tirades) ZPE was pseudo. Now the military and government researchers are throwing money at it. Nanotechnology was pseudo. Almost every other week a new break through in nanotechnology comes about. Several folks here calls wave forms and vortices pseudo and are completely illiterate of the structure of the world around them. The atoms in your hand have wave forms and vortices - there's nothing pseudo about them. That's not just my view it's in countless texts and universities throughout the world. Thousands of quantum physicists all over the world are dealing with things you can't see. The quantum field isn't pseudo at all, it's only folks when confronted with the unknown and incomprehensible get a deflation - and they retaliate. I theorize a lot. It's how I make my living. Pseudo has a very specific meaning and is used to describe demonstrably false assertions and pseudo science is demonstrably false science.

After reading that Tony, Davin, RL or now I guess you too might shout "pseudo bs..mumbojumbo"

But those discoveries are old news reported even by second hand sources like NASA. Ignorance of something scientific does not make it pseudo. It only demonstrates ignorance.

This constant lack of realism in your life leads me to believe you live a very sheltered life. You are NOT the down-to-earth person who is respected here, but someone who lives with their head in the clouds in a world of their own making.

I'm very down to earth. I work, drive an evil SUV, go to fast food places more often than I'd like, and live a very normal life. I Don't attend protests in some constant depressed/unhappy mentality. And I have no fears the black ops are preparing to sweep dissidents into concentration camps or that Bush is preparing to declare martial law. My life is very realistic. If you base the "realism" of my life upon the posts here (which include blatant fictional stories) then I would say you need to get a broader perspective. Life is far broader than the zone.

And everyone lives in a world of their own making. My head's not in the clouds at all. I have no lofty socialist utopian views and know that everyone has problems and this will NEVER change. When one accepts that premise - the first thing you learn to do is deal with problems and keep a cool head while doing it. As for respect - I'm not here for that. I'm here to share common interests - namely space, science and politics and not always in that order. If you're here at the Zone for respect - than you need to reevaluate your priorities.

Or so you say. If one feels like one is taking a deflation all the time - yes I can see how one would feel that that person isn't humble. But that's your own misinterpretation. If one feels that someone is racist or homophobic because one doesn't understand what they are saying then this too might be perceived as some sort of superiority complex. I've said it here before and I'll say it again, "I'm no better or worse than anyone." This time I'll leave no doubt - whites,blacks, latinos, asians, homosexuals, onanists and bank robbers. I don't even hold myself better than murderers - because, for better or worse, I try to see things from this "big picture" perspective. In an infinite universe the first thing you try to ascertain is perspective. One of these perspectives is that everyone is fundamentally equal to the universe - despite their inequal positions. We all have different traits and attributes and have stored different experiences and knowledge. This doesn't mean I share the same views, values or morals with all these groups - far from it. But I realize our place in the infinite scheme of things.

If humbleness is meekness and mealy-mouthedness - than you're right - I'm not humble.

However, there are plenty of us here who know the value of working hard and co-operating with spouses, bosses and co-workers. We have raised kids and we have loved hard and long. It is what tempers our humanity.

Yes. And I have never worked a day in my life. My butler brings me all my meals and my servants wax the cars. When I do leave the estate my bodyguards rough up all those who might approach me. I have never loved and am not loved. I know nothing of kids except that they seem to be beastly, noisy things that get underfoot. I am, basically, inhuman or Ebenezer SADI - a complete construct of your own imagination.

I think YOUR humanity is a little out of whack, like you don't get out much, or that you remain sheltered for some reason.
