The World Map was very Red back then. As an Example, Vietnam turned communist despite our efforts. Before that, the USSR was putting Nukes in Cuba (Which Kennedy stopped, and was the most important thing he did as President IMO)
When Reagan was president, Central America was on its way to being Red.
