I looked.
If someone is counting people, he doesn't usually use a dollar sign to do it. If success is counted in dollars, then Eminem's success is no less green than anyone else's.
I went to see a recent movie three times -- once with my friends, once with my kids, and once more with my kids -- but I'm still only one person, even though I paid three times. If I have three houses, I'm still only one person on the census.
You evidently would like this to be a matter of "elites" vs. "regular folks". That's not what's going on. The "elite" are not hollering here. Jewish citizens are.
I grew up with this Crucifixion. It's breathtaking in its brutality. This is apparently a new discovery for many Protestants. I understand their fascination. May they be very aware of its power, and wary of its subtext. I grew up during Vatican II, and went to Catholic schools for 12 years. The catechism before was very different than the catechism afterward. I would listen to the Jews if I were you. They have a better ear for anti-Semitism than either of us.
If you want this to be painted as cultural warfare by connecting it to the gay marriage dust-up, you should be talking to the Log Cabin Republicans. They apparently are feeling a little betrayed and crucified right now too.
