Lezee here, you respond to my request for a definition of "art" by saying "None of it was something that could just as easily have been done by an anacephalic chimp."
Never having seen the art work of an "anacephalic chimp," I am afraid your explanation fails to enlighten me. I yield to you your association with other forms of primate, but the response seems to me to be an obsfucation rather than an explanation.
You then jumped from the graphic arts to explaining the creation of music by saying "in the same way, Beethoven creates symphonies, not somebody sitting on a stage and banging the same key on a piano for an hour." I am sure this is rife with some meaning that escapes me.
You concluded your explanation of art by stating, "There are some fine modern artists, but quite a number of them bring an attitude to art that is similar to a little boy who comes in and drops his pants in front of the company just to get a reaction."
Your explanation could best be interpreted as a verbose way of saying you don't have a clue when it comes to understanding or appreciating either art or music. This cluelessness is made manifest by your interpretation of the "attitude" of the artist with the quality of the art. It also appears you have no independent system to made artistic judgements, but rely on what others in past history have defined as acceptable art and stand convinced that any and everything new or different is bad.
Or, am I just not interepreting what you say correctly?
