Kalpana was putting her gloves on in the video. Normally, they all wear their gloves during re-entry (until the Shuttle is too low to hope for a bail out).
However, I did read (or hear) something about the STS 107 event: one or even two astronauts didn't have his (or her) gloves on and one astronaut didn't have his (or her) helmet on. It came out of the forensic analysis.
This was quite astonishing information.
