Of course if the theory that universes can be created by a really advanced civilization ever proves true, or we start doing it ourselves, then "God" might be grad student Steve from Univese 87B-901294/Zeta and we are his thesis project!

There may then be something to the Deist concept after all, of a God who makes the Universe then just lets it run by itself.
