SCOTT: "Most children are still taught that there is a Santa Claus"

MY REPLY: A ridiculous analogy. When was the last time a school board approved a curriculum requiring the teaching of the theory of Santa Claus?!? Introducing the "teaching" of "intelligent design" in our public schools is essentially asking teachers to do exactly the same thing.

George Bush and his administration are politicizing science and science education (global warming, stem cell research and now high chool biology). Its a very dangerous step. It will take this nation backwards. It will stifle scientific research. It will send us to the Middle Ages where so-called intellectuals debate the number of angels you can find on the head of a pin.

If you don't recognize this danger, we're in worse trouble than I thought.
