I think you are over-reacting.
Not everyone is a scientist. (Thank God)
And the only thing Bush said is that schools should recognize that some people believe something different than evolution.
As for fairy tales: Most children are still taught that there is a Santa Claus, and they really arn't all that damaged in terms of scientific reasoning by their childhood belief in flying reindeer. Should the schools be forced to teach children from the earliest ages that there is no Santa? Oh wait...I forgot Santa offends Muslims, Jews, Athiests, Pagens, Wickens, Scientologists, and Druids...We already can't mention Santa in our schools.
