How even incidental encouraging killing of americans classifies as a lesser act of evil than a false accusation of a crime. A false accusation or even a false conviction (since no one has been executed for treason in decades) can be remedied where even a single death by a terrorist convinced Americans are out to steal land, oil or women can not. You are tipping the balance of justice in the wrong direction. Life comes before liberty. As long as a person lives they have a chance at liberty. A dead person does not.
It's not even that stark a choice though. Accusing someone of treason may intimidate opposition but it will certainly not stop those with true conviction. It is most likely to effect those that are just bullshitting for status and are therefore concerned about loosing it. All the negative feedback here hasn't shut my mouth one bit.
You're also starting to convince me I really do need to post a list of definitions for treason.
Regards,
Mark
