That's what we are. Not a nation of custom. Not a nation of common culture.

Destroy the law, and we have no America, and therefore no Americans to kill, even incidentally.

Destroy free speech and you destroy democracy. Voila! The terrorists win, and without killing anybody but Liberty.

The tipping point of justice is to keep it tethered to the law, not to mere survival. Otherwise we have no justice.

You want to publish a definition of treason? Go ahead. I'm writing an engineering textbook. It will have as much authority.
