I enjoyed watching ER's reaction to his first experience as the recipient of an SDAI-Tech1 epistle, because it reminded me that it can be a treat. Much there to agree with, things to argue about, and an epic sweep and operatic narrative style.
Much of what I'd dispute is in the realm of cosmology and physics, and I credit you with understanding how your cosmology differs from the current mainstream cosmology. You agree to disagree.
Yet, the overall sweep of your narrative isn't inconsistent with what other people are constructing inspired by the mainstream-yet-bleeding-edge of cosmophysics. Persistence of being on either side of life is extrapolated by some out of speculations about quantum computing. Some recent "Post-Singularity" science fiction like Charles Stross's "Accelerando" is built around quantum reincarnation. Cute idea: A quantum computer, according to theory, because it's based on how the universe computes itself into existence, can create not just copies but the genuine article. When you live, your life is the result of an ongoing quantum computation. Later, a quantum computer can run the same program and you really would live the same life. Or a new variation caused by the buildup of quantum randomness. Or it could compute your birth and the rest is up to you. Soaring speculation varies.
It's real because it's quantum, and in much of your post you were talking about quantization, lives as quanta of life, and the koan "simultaneously infinite and finite". That's quanta for ya. There are times when you're speaking Science, albeit a very peculiar dialect. Or maybe "creole" is the correct term?
Can there be nothing? Is zero a fiction? Don't be silly. Without zero/nothing there would be no information. The fundamental unit of information, the bit, is zero or one, true or false. Take away one of its possibilities and then you really will have nothing, a void and a null concept. God and Satan, yin and yang, electron and positron, zero and one, Republican and Democrat, yes and no, true and false. The universe is binary.
Without nonexistence, where is your reference for existence?
