re: Thank you for the compliment.

Johannes, I accept your rebuttal. Think you did a rather good job at it.

Aww shucks (blush)

I'm still going to have to believe that there is no real science in the Book of Genesis anymore than any other book or fable one can read.

I would not be so sure of that if I were you, for instance Aesop's
HARE AND THE TORTOISE seems to have parallels to the explanation of the physics phenomenon of speed and acceleration.

It's not so much that I do not value what you have to say with this particular reference. It's simply that I'm suspicious about your choice.
What causes a person to pick the Bible as the source of their study and make it their introductory post to a scientific bulletin board? In my experience with human beings, a conversation that begins with the Bible as the main topic, brings up an immediate red flag.

It seemed like a puzzle that needed a solution. How can something be created and yet be without form and void?

You sound like you're intelligent enough to understand where one would get an impression like that particularly in these days when religion in America seems to be extremely pushy.

Ahh yes the Jehovah's witness for instance, if I was very busy with more important things to do or if I had absolutely no interest in religion, then I would be irritated by their insistence on consuming my valuable time, but since I am interested in knowing little bit about many religions and the people that practice them, I have listened to these people also.
I am not afraid that any religious sect will "convert" me to their religion, simply because I have my own "belief system" that is based partly on the faith in logic and scientific assumptions, and partly on the experiences that I have had and the knowledge that I have gained during my lifetime(s);-)

It's completely likely that your post was innocent but we'll just have to see where you take other topics to truly decide that.

I gather that you were not around when RL and I exchanged view points on subjects that had no relation to any religion.
If you are interested, I can "rehash" those ideas, provided that no one objects.

Of course you're free to post anything you like about any subject just as I'm free to look for hidden agendas.

I agree with that.

Obviously you're a very bright man and extremely articulate. I look forward to the discourse.

I find that, communication between intelligent people is a very satisfying learning experience, and I look forward to expressing my views on a variety of subjects that interest me.

Johannes
