I think uncovering the France Telecom bit was the most informative. When you think about it, every person they manage to turn against America (and its companies) is a potential French Telecom customer.
Naturally you would fan the flames of anti-Americanism and hype the American-Israeli ties every chance you get - and that is exactly what we are witnessing.
Those IEC board members without ulterior commercial interests have leftist credentials to qualify for 3 or 4 dedicated leftists apiece. ;-)
Sadly, France is the biggest enemy of the US because its commercial and economic interests dictate its political stance. Amnesty International is just one of many such organizations which, after you peel away the surface doubletalk, reveal themselves to be one or more corporate interests gussied up as a globalist prostitute.
I really feel sorry for Raoul. His views are the byproduct of many years of socialist media propaganda. I know the sort of TV broadcasts they have there and the totally biased newspapers and magazines that are violently leftist and use violent imagery as propaganda. Time and Newsweek are kids stuff next to the Euro news publications. In Europe graphic violence is the order of the day. They cherry pick the most shocking images and then package them with a message:
"Israel is a monster" w/picture of decapitated child and father crying over body.
"USA is a monster" w/Abu Ghraib photos en masse & a few Guantanamo images of people behind bars in orange jump suits.
You get the idea. Day after day, year after year of such biased pieces and it would be hard to live in Europe and NOT despise America and Israel. The media and its corporate backers in Europe have worked very hard the past 35 years to dismantle the goody-two-shoes image of America most Europeans held after WWII. It is in their best corporate interests to make as much of the world hate their competition. Raoul's generation has already been fully indoctrinated and he really believes that International is superior to national - because that is what he has been taught. That 1 good apple is better than 15 rotten apples hasn't occurred to him. And by now he would never believe the US is a good apple.
Again, it was worth a shot.
