There's the Left, the stereotypical fractious herd of cats, valuing diversity and dissent and perpetually limited in its effectiveness (and ability to do harm) by its inability to agree on any one thing for very long.
This may be the biggest howler I've seen here and from other liberal sources. I could make a list of thirty issues, and could, nine times out of ten, tell you what the position would be on each one from a typical liberal.
As far as "dissent" goes, for a good time, go to a moderate liberal board like Kevin Drum's, and watch what happens when he steps a millimeter off the party line. Same for Democratic politicians.
As far as "diversity" goes, try a university campus. The definition of "diversity" there is people of many different skin colors and backgrounds who all think exactly alike. For another good time, look at how Democrats treat conservative minority members.
I have listed my extensive disagreements with Bush and the Republicans on several occasions. I have also laid out my differences with various supposed fountainheads of the Right like the evangelicals, Ayn Rand, the libertarians, and others.
My positions are my own. They are not those of any other conservative-leaner on this board, and I don't need to be lumped in with them, and you are doing them a disservice if you lump them in with me.
