I think the religious right would like to see the US become a Christian version of Saudi Arabia with a clear and strong government support of Christianity under the ruse that religious freedom in the constitution implied only branches of Christianity. I agree they mean well, but the so do most liberals in opposing the war SDAI. I'm sure most of the suicide bombers on 911 thought they were doing good. This country should not tolerate religious intolerance in my opinion nor stunts like the ten commandments monument in AL.

The religious based creationist push to discredit evolution has pretty much wiped out any of my doubts about distancing myself from organized religion. Religious leaders simply have no credibility with me based on either their support for these creationist tactics or like "moderate" muslims their refusal to condemn them.
