I disagree with some of it, i.e., that fundamentalists get goodness points for effort. Although they think they are doing good, when they undermine education by insisting that science is subject to the concept of "equal time", I don't care how good they believe themselves to be. They're a menace.

The only way I can deal is face-to-face as an individual. I can start with respect. If I don't get respect back, I go completely icicle. Courtesy is my primary tool, but it can be a shield, too.

The woman who challenged the penguin book stopped talking to me when, after she asked me what I thought of the book and I told her, has become downright rude. She, of course, gets the help she asks for. But I don't turn on my Pinball Machine Of The Unconscious to get all those extra tidbits any more. She will need to restore the equilibrium for me to do that.

If you believe what you wrote here, will you stop with the namecalling?
