Sorry, reality is NOT a democracy
Most people may think their chances of winning are better if THEY pick the numbers instead of a computer doing it randomly for them*. In reality, all they are doing is usually increasing the odds that they will have to split the pot with others if they DO win.
Most people may believe in angels and ghosts- it does not change the reality.
*I once saw a CNN report on a big lotto winner- the reporter was amazed that the winner had done a 'quick pick' where the computer chose the numbers- the reporter said "... and a computer picked the winning numbers?! Amazing! What are the odds of that?!"- the rest of her comments were not heard because of my screaming....
