You're evading reality

Books contain the sum of all human knowledge. If you fall back on 'life experience' to define your notion of 'spirituality' then you are no better than the cavemen who did nothing but. And just because the 'bible' is one of the first books published makes it the 'bible' only in name, not in content. Most schoolbooks contain more factual useful information about the world.

I think spirituality is just imagination run amok. Of all the things we imagine to be possible, science will tell you what is right and what is wrong. Scientists have been recording the results of their research for hundreds of years. When I say I haven't learned a fraction of it, I mean that when I walk into a library stacks, my eduation comprises perhaps half of one shelf. And it took four years of full-time study to learn. Tens of thousands of volumes await, and already I know enough to find the errors in any religious ideal. Millions of people out there are just like me, equally and more eduated, and equally and more skeptical.
