Well...

Reality is what it is, whether we are there to sense it or not. It was there billons of years before any life existed on Earth.

Our 'vision' of reality has less to do with how we sense our environment, and more to do with how our imagination extrapolates, anticipates events, makes cause & effect connections between events. Science uses empiracle evidence, and mathemathical formulas to help form a predictable 'vision' of reality. Alot of people take it much further, without any evidence or even any reason to take it further.

I see religion as an unnecessary vision of reality. When all the processes we see in the world around us have been explained, in a predictable, reproducable fashion.... along comes a religous zealot who makes wild nebulous statements about the reality that fly in the face of facts and logic, and people eat it up.
