Science, IMO, is the search for the truth about nature and the Universe. It can only be based on facts. It is ridged and logical, but it can only deal with those things that pertain to our physical universe and the laws that govern it. It is a tool.

But throw in human nature- human egos, and scientist (not science) stray from the truth as they cling to theories science proves wrong. It must be hard when lifelong research turns out to be wrong.
